What is Embodied Posture Method™ (EPM)?
Embodied Posture Method™, or EPM, empowers students to align yoga postures to best suit their uniqueness. Through over 25 years of studying the human body and teaching yoga, Stacy Dockins developed this innovative approach that integrates bio-individuality and long-term, sustainable functional wellness. Combining body awareness, science, and exploration, Stacy provides practical information you can immediately apply on your mat to get the most out of your practice.
Teachers who graduate from YP in the Embodied Posture Method™programs have an understanding of the body and how they might be most helpful for their students.
Our training method and program go beyond the posture alignment and sequences to give you the “WHY” behind the approach.
We train teachers to be able to think critically so they can adapt their classes to the students who show up. With Dave, Stacy, and the Embodied Posture Method™programs you’ll get:
The YP style we teach -our Embodied Posture class is a slow-paced Vinyasa that highlights bio-individuality, agency, and empowerment. It is infused with anatomy-based teaching that encourages students to be the experts of their own bodies.
Experienced Instructors - You have access to us (Stacy & Dave) all the way through the course. Even our 100% Online students are in conversation with us throughout each week as needed. We have been teaching yoga teachers since 2005 and this is what we love!
We wrote the textbook! The yoga posture textbook Embodied Posture: Your Unique Body & Yoga written by Stacy Dockins is the book we use in our trainings. It’s also the book many YTT schools have chosen to use in the last 3 years. We get contacted often by students who have used our book in their own training just to tell us how much they love and appreciate the text. This book will be shipped to you when you register!
In-person hybrid or 100% Online options. You can always add on an in-person training later if you choose.

Our training has credibility, and the curriculum has years of thought behind it. While we include ancient practice theory, we also reference scientific literature and its application in disciplines beyond yoga. The primary aim is to share a practice that increases mental and physical wellness so we think critically and use all accessible and credible resources.

"I honestly never intended to study for a 300-hour certification because many of the programs I'd seen available seemed redundant. When I stumbled upon Stacy's book Embodied Posture and began taking virtual classes, I knew that I had to enroll in the advanced training! My 200-hour was rooted in classical yoga and Yoga Project's evidence-based anatomy-focused 300-hour training was the missing piece I craved. My confidence as a teacher has increased tenfold and my students have noticed and felt the changes in their bodies. I'm changed as a person and eternally grateful to Stacy and Dave."
